My teenage daughter Emilee decided she wanted to plant sunflowers like her grammie does in Maine, so she started them from seeds in the house omw you don't need to the grow really fast....we planted them as fast as we could. For our first crop of sunflowers they were beautiful. See the little visitor?
simply primtive
My daughter loved taking snap shots of the different growing stages, I was so thrilled they did so well for her. Oh yes, she is making plans on planting even more next year. Love that she got her green thumb from my mom. So sit back enjoy the beauty of fall approaching us, Sunflowers always make me smile, with a good cup of coffee.

News from Peggy Lee
I have been busy making scrapbook layouts for awhile now, trying to be creative everyday for more scrapbook inspiration hop over to my other blog http://pegbaker.blogspot.com the flowers are made from strips of fabric I had laying around my sewing area, simple tied a knot at one end and rolled toward me and glued as I turned. I will post a more detailed post and pics soon. I have started my veggies inside but the weather isn't helping us outside, here in East Coast it can be touch and go in the Spring.
as you can see in the this next photo which was at the end of April, we got 9 inches of snow of course it melted right away but yuck, the weather man is saying for more snow this weekend. Come on I want summer already......winter is so long here.

Around the house weekend.

Around the house this weekend will be a busy one. Friday night (last night) I was sick from my fibro pain, I didn't get to go to a scrapbook retreat weekend. That's ok maybe next time. The girls had youth group, Lee and I dropped them off, ran to Walmart sick and all, but we where half way there and you know if you live in the country towns that's a big deal with the cost of gas today. So Lee and I ran in real quick Lee knows when I am sick with pain, I slow down really fast, but of course I did manage to buy some new fabrics fall colors (I bought them to make something for a swap I am in) no more clues want it to be a surprise.
I did work on some prim note cards last night while Lee and I watched tv for a little while waiting for the girls to come home. They turned out cute, I will post pics later today.
Now it's Saturday morning, we are up and have had coffee, we are getting ready for a family BBQ that we are having today, to see off our nephew George who is going back overseas to finish out another six months. Please keep him and others who are over there in your prayers, and their families.
August is suppose to be warm, NOT yesterday the wind was blowing and cool crisp air was flowing, fall can't come yet we haven't had a summer here in New England. And to top that off, it got down to 40 degrees last night, warm socks and sweatshirts was a must last night.
Don't get me wrong I love fall, just would like some kind of summer before winter sets in.

Flower Garden
This is what I am up to this morning, my sister-in-law Caren came over with this beauty, she has tons on your property. We dug a hole and planted it this morning, between two huge trees. I have decided to make a flower garden there it's going to be cute, there are three old tree stumps and Lee and I are going to work them into the garden. Yesterday we went to the plant store and I got 20 flowers they had a deal 1.00 each. They won't bloom this year but next summer beauty will appear.
Lee has been busy finishing up the living room walls, next is painting the kitchen. So much to do when you buy a home, we've been here for a year. And our summer is just now coming, we've had so much rain. Our trees here in the east coast some are already changing color not good. So no vegie garden this year that's ok we are fixing and garden for next spring.
After digging up the lawn for the garden today, I need to finish mowing the lawn. I am excited for the sunshine today and for most of the week will be nice. Praise God. Our girls went to the lake for the first time this summer.
