Sunday Evening

Wow can't believe it's Sunday evening already, what a weekend let's start with today. We woke up had morning coffee, breakfast and running around getting ready to go to church. After church came home for a light lunch, nap time, I went visiting a friend for awhile enjoyed coffee and sitting on her country porch visiting. Boy I wish I had a porch like that, put that on my dream list for this home. Came home and we took our youngest out to eat thinking it would be cheaper because we were one less. Not it was almost 40.00 and we both got water that is suppose to be free. Going out to eat it's not in our budget anymore.
This weekend was filled with many do list projects, Lee worked on the living room walls, finally cut the tall grass in our garden that I have not had time to plant yet, not much time to do so either, but with my mother sick and being gone this spring when I should have been home to prepare the garden. oh well that's ok, I am going to plant some tomato plants and a few more little things and that mostly it for this summer. unless I can read up on gardening some more. Don't get me wrong, I grew up on a farm and worked in a garden all my life, but making a garden for the first time by yourself is alot of work, which I love but time got away from me.
God will supply our needs and tomatoes!! I am just happy to finally have a home to call ours and it's alot of hard work, but I do love the feeling afterwards.
In the morning I have to take my mother in law down to get surgery and will be gone all day. Thats fine since it's going to rain anyway, so I think I will take some stitchery with me to keep be busy while I wait for her.
Blessings

Around the House/ Birthday art

Here a few pics of around our house, we are in the process of redoing the living room walls, the only walls that wasn't done (besides our bedroom) that wasn't finished when we bought this house a year ago. It's been a slow process with work, kids and of course bills. (van breaking down two days after Christmas) ok got that off my chest. So now onto the colors, that has been a battle in it self, oh man the color choices a person has CRAZY, we have chosen I think (pine needle green, dark cranberry, almond oil tan color)
The last pic is of some yard sale finds from a while ago.
SNEAK PEAK AT MY BIRTHDAY ART I DID FOR MYSELF. (oops left the caps on)

To see more pics of birthday art (39yrs and holding) hop on over to http://pegbaker.blogspot.com for a closer look. I had so much fun playing in my studio and getting messy, this wall art is to hang in my studio for inspiration. enjoy

Around the House

sasha wanting to go get that crow across the street.
Love this pink flower my sister-in-law gave me for just because gift. Thanks Caren

This old storm window my dear friend bought it for my birthday about 10 years ago in Kanas City on one of her yard sale trips. I love it to death, placed a wreath I bought and added tiny pine cones. It's a great conversation piece because everyone who visits me ask, "Why do you have a old window on you wall?" I sometimes just say I love it!! It's me!!

Here are some buttercups from my backyard, they are everywhere out there, I know they are a weed but God made the most beautiful weeds I think.... this yellow Begonia I found yesterday at my local food store, I have never seen a yellow one, always red, pink, white. So I had to have it.

summer beauty.....

Prim Finds

my Emilee all dress up for church...
A few weekends ago I went over to visit my sister-in-law and on the way saw a great yardsale, I got these old top jars for 2.00
And can you believe it this 6 foot tree with lights for a 1.00, Emilee thought I was crazy, but we have a big house now and I love Christmas and decorating every room is a dream of mine with a tree.

Also I got this melon green cabinet for 2.00 don't know what I am going to do with it but it was a great find. Love yard sales.
We are getting ready for re due on the living room walls, I have ripped off all the wallpaper, now we are either going to Spackle or put up new drywall.? Not sure Lee and I keep going back and forth.
But we have decided on a color (pine needle green) love it. I will show pictures soon of our process. or us pulling our hair out. wait and see.

School Is Out

Well it's Friday at last, and today starts summer vacation for my girls. They are so ready and I think I am to. Today I was feeling a little overwhelmed because the past two weeks have been nuts for me. Being a mother, wife, cook, washer of clothes wheres my pants!, cat duty, personal driver for every ones needs. STOP is what I wanted to yell, then another mother told me to enjoy it because before to long I was going to miss it, and I know she is right. only six years and both girls will be done with school, two years for my oldest and then I will be missing the little things that frustrate me now.
Enjoy your everyday moments even if the are driving you nuts. Blessings is what I need to remember.
Now a Blessing would be a week without rain....

Father's

Here is a scrapbook layout I will be teaching this fall at our Annual Women's Fall Retreat, this is my husband Lee when a young boy with his father Carl (who is no longer with us but we miss him). Teaching the ladies how to scrapbook in a plain frame. I thought with Father's Day coming up this weekend, it was something to share. Let's remember the men in our lives and honor the ones gone before us.

Well sorry no sewing project to show you yet, see trouble at the top of the post, cute little sasha has been helping me sew. Anyway I made a huge mistake and I am cutting out more of the same material from the post about sewing on Monday. So it's now Thursday and I am staying home today and sewing that project hope to have it finish today and will post it tonight. Giving myself a deadline, I work much better under pressure.
This card "fly" is a card I made last weekend and posted it on my creative scraps blog it was for a contest, I didn't win but I had so much fun playing and will play again. What a thrill, to create and wait to see if yours gets pick, it was exciting.
As you can see sasha is sitting on a yo yo runner I made for me, a while ago I am making more yo yo's and preparing to sew them into more runners, candle matts they are so fun to make and easy.
Thursday are my cleaning day around the house, I try not to clean on the weekends so we can do family events or just hang out or work on a weekend project. It's grad. weekend and my husband lee is working for his bank setting up a new branch so it will be just me and Emilee. Olivia is singing at grad. Maybe I will go yard sale shopping? yes

My sewing project for Monday

This is my project for today is to finish my pincushion that my quilt ladies did in the post below. I will post a pic of my finish work. I wanted to show you the fabric I chosen. I love the browns and hints of blue flowers. I am excited to sew this up!
A little tip see in the picture that I used the new cutting knife that you place you figure in to have better control cutting which I use for my scrapbooking and cardmaking projects. Well you see I couldn't find my rotary cutter so I had to use this and I have to say it was great, it cut the fabric like butter and I had better control of my cutting.
You can find this knife at you local scrapbooking store, for under $5.00's what a deal.

Pretty soon this is where you will find me and my girls up at Margie's Camp soaking up the sun and visiting with our favorite lady. I love to go up to the camp and listen to the water smack itself and it's pure country living.

Work I did up at Maine

Here is a stitchery I did while I was up at Maine helping my mother and brother out. It's a Christmas Blessing stitchery, I don't know yet if I am going to frame it or make a long pillow.
My daughter was laying on the floor watching me, not a good pic of me but great times at grams.

I still have to finish the little x's I scattered all over the picture not sure what color yet to stitch them?

June is a hard month for me, mostly because it host Father's Day and my Father's Birthday at the same time.
Here is a picture of my father George Tilley Sr. he was in the Navy, he has passed away and is resting since 1994, but June is bittersweet for me. Lots of wonderful memories of my dad, also it's my birthday month to. To think about him seeing me born and holding me in the same month is heart breaking. I love my father and miss him deeply.
Let's remember to celebrate our fathers even if they are gone from us now we can still remember and celebrate them.

I'm back (i think)

Sorry I have been gone from this blog in a long time, since I got home from taking care of my mother in Maine I have been right out straight. With catching up on all that I left behind bill, housework, projects, ripping wallpaper off, teenagers, my mans work schedule. Life seems to be slowing down now that I took the time to get caught up. Now I can blog about life and happenings around our home and primitive side.
First let me tell you that we got a new baby in our family. And she is driving me nuts she loves my studio/craft room and already has destroyed brand new scrapbook paper, ribbon and more. But she is so cute we love her!! I will post a pic soon I have to run to the other computer and email it to myself.

I did have time to go yard sale shopping I had so much fun with my daughter Olivia, it was great I got 8 chairs, birdcage, candle holder, old books, wash tub small one, fabric. Loved it. I am so ready for this season of morning collecting has I call it. There is nothing like cool crisp summer morning and a cup of hot coffee and pocket full of change.

Much more to tell you and show you, my kitten needs some attention right now, she won't let me type. bye
