12 Days of Christmas 2011

Day 1: Christmas Tree

Over at my paper crafting blog Creative Scraps by Peggy Lee you can read in more depth about how and you can create this CTMH card stock, stamps, inks and some embellishments.
Created with a paper cone base, then glued the paper cones on, added some glitter and little saying to start off my creative side of the Holidays.

What have I been up to!!! Dec. 1st already....

Wow where has the time gone, so busy doing so many things I haven't had much time to devote to my prim blog and crafting. The past two months I have been ill and trying to get a Christmas Workshop put together plus work on some crafty items to sell at some Holiday Craft Fairs...CRAZY!!!
I did manage to make some homemade rolls and lazz. for supper a few weeks ago, you know before turkey day. Which I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, I sure did and it was crazy meaning, two days before Thanksgiving I got a call from my sis that said you need to come home and cheer mom up....so with all that said we packed up and drove up home to Maine in a blizzard!!!! CRAZY if my sister didn't have a 4x4 wheel drive we wouldn't have made it....but we did safe and sound and surprized my mom not just for Thanksgiving but her birthday too...love ya mom.
One day last month I was walking around my home just enjoying my decorations that I have made and this wreath spoke to me, it was the first thing I made from our bush out back in the yard the first fall we lived here. So love the simple joy it gives me.
here is some of the craziness I have been up to rolling book pages into roses, wreaths, card making, sewing...ooooo the list goes on...and I am still not done.
started to dabble in mixed media art to not bad for my first ever face......
Christmas Wall Art

while I was home I can sit at my mom's kitchen table and get great shots of my favie little birdie!!!! so love it.
Well off to Olde Time Christmas in Lancaster, NH tonight, so love this time of the year!!!! Visiting my fav store that is closing it's doors, very very sad but understandable with the way the money problem is today...which just makes me want to open my shop in my home so bad....soon....

Sunflowers "Make Me Smile"

My teenage daughter Emilee decided she wanted to plant sunflowers like her grammie does in Maine, so she started them from seeds in the house omw you don't need to the grow really fast....we planted them as fast as we could. For our first crop of sunflowers they were beautiful. See the little visitor?
                                                                            simply primtive
My daughter loved taking snap shots of the different growing stages, I was so thrilled they did so well for her. Oh yes, she is making plans on planting even more next year. Love that she got her green thumb from my mom. So sit back enjoy the beauty of fall approaching us, Sunflowers always make me smile, with a good cup of coffee.

Birthday Gift Wrap and Tag

My girlfriend had a birthday last week, and created this birthday celebrate tag to spruce up the simple tissue and muslin gift wrap (which is totally adorable prim look). I tied muslin around the heart to tie in with the wrapping on the gift, just a simple handmade thought that warms the heart.

What I've been Doing!

Wow where has the time gone, I haven't posted on this blog since March, I have been dealing with some illnesses that have really taken over my life, and from March on I have been so sick and trying to just live everyday life. Finially the doctors discovered that I was really sick and I had surgery to have all my girly parts removed, I was in the hospital for a few days and I have been home recovering but I am not out of the woods still having some issues other issues and now I am heading into have a GI done. Hoping to know soon what I am dealing with they think a bleeding ulcer or acid reflux disease.
Please forgive me for not posting life has been really busy, with all this illness and recovery our family has been busy trying to help me around the house, life tilling the garden. love the fresh dirt.

To keep my spirits up I did take place in my first ATC Card Swap...this is what a came up with it had to be made out of metal...love it...

Crows confused

I sit here in my living room looking out my windows to the beauty of fresh fallen snow and the crows look so rich in color against the white snow. Just yesterday they were loving the dead green grass and now they keep hopping from tree to ground wondering it was there last time...????....sooo cute.

no worries this snow will melt fast-they call it sugar snow for making sap for maple suryup...yummmie

It smells like Spring!!!

Yesterday it sure started to smell like Spring, the weather here on East Coast can be surprizing this time of the year, winter is trying to leave and spring is slowing creeping up on us....The wind was blowing and crows were gathering on the only patch of dead green grass that was showing in my neighbors front yard. I could smell "Spring" which is soooo need here. I am ready to start thinking of my new garden and flowerbeds for this year. But first I have been dreaming of bunnies and Easter eggs. So I decided to bring a little spring early to the Baker home and created this cute little Easter Basket and cards to share.
isn't this little bunnie touch your heart, he does mine,
next is a tri-fold card with again the bunnie that warms my heart
close up of the Easter Basket ready to be filled with candy and given to that special someone or a teacher gift. I have been missing my primitive creating lately so I am off to create a prim spring banner for my home, yes I will share. soon.

Home Sweet Home

Here is a little project I have been working on, love these colors and the homespun feel. This will look great on my wall. There is more details on my other blog http://pegbaker.blogspot.com/
Can't believe that February is almost over, where did the time go? We are so ready for spring here in New Hampshire but we are having snow flurries again, but this new snow will help melt the old snow. In just a few weeks spring will be alive and I must start getting ready, I would love to create some spring time prim items to adorn my home and maybe start selling some of my prims.
I haven't been feeling to good see I have fibromyaligia and it's not fun at times, I have been having a flair up for almost 4 days. And all I want to do is sleep, so I am relaxing and thinking about preparing some projects to work on.

winters thaw

oh what a few beautiful days we have had, lovely warm weather and all the ice from my house is melted off and the snow is shrinking...even though it snowed last night, I still feel spring is in the air...
up early the house is all asleep, heading out to work in a few hours, then home to clean and maybe create something, I need to finish up some quilts that I have started and need to buy some homespun fabric to make curtains with soon.

February Already

Can't believe is February already and I haven't posted anything yet....been busy with my girls in school with mid-terms to prepare for and my oldest daughter had a drama program that just finished their show this past weekend..this momma is happy for all the car running around and late night practices (dinners warm up more times than I like).
But happen endings to all! Now onto working on some items for me, with it being February and Valentines Day coming up I am itching to sew up some prim hearts. Creating some Valentine cards and treats for my family and friends.
I am ready for creative time, it just relaxes me and makes my heart warm and fussy, lol!!!
We have had many snowstorms lately, and as I type was are getting more snow we are expected to get other 3-5 inches tonight. We have so much snow now that roofs are failing, ours are still ok, but the ice build up scares me. Lee says it's ok, but I worry that it will leak back into the house or make a hole when it falls onto the other roof.
Spending time watching tv with my girls tonight and hoping to start some stitching. I am in the mood to sew a quilt or make a applique wall hanging. I will take pics of what I create for you all to see. For I love to look at others artwork it's fun to see every ones style and art.
Evening everyone.

Simply beautiful

I just love the simply beauty of weathered worn wood, houses, old barns falling down brings great heartfelt emotions of dreaming-of it's past-life that once breathed in and out of the people who once walked and lived among these beauties. This photo is of my mother-in-laws back door to her home, I love it!!!

With winter blowing and falling down upon us, I must admit I am dreaming of Spring, love my mothers olde watering can with the wild daisy's growing. And I am dreaming of yard sales and flea markets again, one of my favorite things to do on the weekends. Here are some goodies I picked up this past summer.
They will become part of my altered art projects or just sit on a table to be admire, these lace trims will become the star in my scrap booking layouts or home decor pillows.
Valentines will soon be upon us, I am starting to think of reds, pinks and hearts! Here is a Valentine Card I made last year that I thought I would share with you all. My mind is spinning with ideas to create with felt, fabric and papers...stay tune for more eye candy to come.
Thanks Peggy Lee
